Neurological and Vascular Assessments

Our feet can provide valuable information about your overall health. Changes in circulation or nerve function are often first noticed in the feet, making regular assessments particularly important for people with diabetes, circulatory conditions or unexplained foot symptoms.

A neurological and vascular assessment allows us to check the health of the nerves and blood supply to your feet. Early detection of problems can help prevent complications and ensure that appropriate treatment or referral is arranged if necessary.

What does a neurological and vascular assessment involve?

During your appointment we will assess the circulation in your feet by checking pulses and examining skin colour, temperature and capillary refill. We will also assess nerve function using specialist instruments to test sensation, vibration and protective feeling in different areas of your feet.

These simple, painless tests provide valuable information about the health of your feet and help us identify any areas of concern before they become more serious.

Ongoing monitoring

If you have diabetes or an existing medical condition affecting your circulation or nerves, regular assessments allow us to monitor any changes over time. We can also provide advice on foot care, footwear and lifestyle measures to help keep your feet healthy and reduce the risk of future complications.
